For some years Montagna Sicura Foundation has been organizing training days on mountain safety, with the aim of spreading the culture of safety and providing participants with the knowledge necessary to be aware when going to the mountains.
The workshops are organized in synergy with mountain professionals: experts of Montagna Sicura Foundation, experts of the Avalanche and Snow Office and experts of AINEVA, Doctors of the Surgery of Mountain Medicine of USL, instructors of Mountain Rescue, Mountain Guides, drivers of avalanche dogs, pisteurs secouristes.
Training activities
One of the institutional goals of Montagna Sicura Foundation is to raise awareness on mountain safety: to this end, Montagna Sicura Foundation has been organizing for some years training days on mountain safety to provide participants with the knowledge necessary to be aware when going to the mountains.
The training workshops are thematic and are divided into two kinds: one proposal during the summer about the progression on glaciers (progression techniques roped together on the glacier, anchorages, self rescue and crevasse recovery operations, how to behave in the event of an accident and how to give the alarm) and the other proposal during the winter about the practice of off-piste (snow formation and transformation, snowpack stability, avalanche formation, avalanche types, European scale of avalanche danger, snow surveys, weather and snow bulletins, emergency call, how to behave in the event of avalanche accident, effective use of the avalanche beacons and technical research, practice research test with avalanche beacons and probing, demonstrations of dog units).
